Education and Training Schools – Youthreach Centre, Cappawhite
The Youthreach programme provides two years integrated education, training and work experience for unemployed early school leavers without any qualifications or vocational training who are between 15 and 20 years of age. The programme usually provides two years integrated education, training and work experience. Basic skills training, practical work training and general education are features of the programme, and the application of new technology is integrated into all aspects of programme content.
Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB) is the statutory provider of education and training opportunities for people throughout county Tipperary. Tipperary ETB also manages dedicated Further Education & Training (FET) centres across Tipperary, including the state-of-the-art training facility at Archerstown, Thurles, as well as the delivery of Youthreach, Lifelong Learning and a wide range of education services for people of almost any age. The remit of Tipperary Education and Training Board, as the statutory provider of education for the County is the provision of a comprehensive range of quality education programmes to meet the needs of the community. These include: Second Level/Post Primary Education, Post Leaving Certificate Programmes, Further Education and Training Services. In addition, Tipperary ETB plays a significant role in the Strategic Development of the County through a variety of inter-agency programmes.
