Silver Arch Family Resource Centre (FRC), previously known as North Tipperary Community Services, provides community based support, information and advocacy services to individuals, families and groups in North Tipperary with a particular focus on those who are most disadvantaged. The company has its roots in Nenagh Social Services, a local charity established by the Diocese of Killaloe and a group of local volunteers in 1973, developed initially to support disadvantaged families and to provide support for elderly people. For over forty years, the service operated out of Loreto House on Kenyon Street, but moved to a more suitable premises in 2017, based in 52 Silver Street Nenagh. The following year, the organisation was successful in its application to become a Tusla funded Family Resource Centre, the first one in North Tipperary. This development provided the opportunity to re-brand and in January 2019, the organisation relaunched as Silver Arch Family Resource Centre, the new business name of the company. It’s central base is still in Nenagh with outreach offices in Newport, Borrisokane and Thurles (to a lesser degree).
Our reception is open from 10 – 1 pm and 2 – 4 pm Monday to Friday. We welcome visitors to the service so please pop in to hear more about the type of work we do.
